Surrey Bridge League, Division 2
Camberley A
Surrey County Bridge Association - West - Division 3
Your club team lost its last match in the Surrey League to a Farnham team that included a couple or familiar
names – Frances and Barbara!!!!!! It felt somewhat surreal to be playing against them but I congratulate them
on a good win (38 IMPS). We missed a slam and were always on the back foot thereafter.

Unfortunately, Camberley narrowly lost to the undefeated Farnham team on Tuesday, 19th February in the Surrey
League. The losing margin was 15 IMPS and revolved around just 2 hands where we missed bidding 2 minor suit
games (lessons learnt for the future!!). We now move on to the last game of the season which is against another
Farnham team that includes 2 Camberley members!!!! I will not name names but watch out for the match report!!!

Pleased to report a narrow win over Farnham G in the second match of the league.
It was 46 imps – 39 imps. Unusually for us, over 50% of the boards were flat!! Read into that what you will.
In 24 hands no slams were bid or made by either team so it was down to a handful of hands where the match was
decided.
We now move on to Farnham D and E for our last 2 matches.
27.11.07
Camberley A comprising Jerrold Lee (Captain),Fraser Glass, George Cassie and Andrew Smith played and won
their first match by 36 IMP’s against Bourne B. Steady bidding together with good defending were the
foundations of the win.
